Sreesanth wanted to run betting houses in India: Reports

New Delhi: Spot-fixing accused S Sreesanth wanted to establish betting houses in India and abroad, media reports claimed on Wednesday.

Media sources claimed that documents were available which pointed that Sreesanth, currently in Delhi Police custody, set up a company named S36 Sports & Entertainment in September 2010.

The aim of the company, in which Sreesanth had 74% stake, was to establish coaching institutes and gymnasiums.

However, what is interesting is the fact that the company was also hoping to "run betting houses in India and abroad".

Sreesanth, along with two of his Rajasthan Royals team mates, was arrested by the Delhi Police in Mumbai last week for spot fixing matches in the sixth edition of the ongoing IPL.
